Who We Are!
Nigeria Youth Policy Development Advocacy Initiative is a nonprofit organization focused on developing and advocating for policies that address Nigerian youth challenges. Our thematic focus is centered around youth-friendly policies, capacity building, and civic engagement.
NYPDAi was incorporated in 2025 by the leadership of Nigeria Youths in Politics organization, after 8 years of rigorous activities in promoting youth participation in governance, leadership, and politics, we expanded our scope in other to drive youth policy-focused activities thereby incorporating Nigeria Youth Policy Development Advocacy Initiative (with Corporate Affairs Commission).
We work in synergy with stakeholders in other to achieve our set objectives. We engage in strategic collaboration and technical advisory when carrying out policy development and research activities. Our corporate governance framework ensure that young people lead decisions and are engage in every advocacy action of the organization.
Strategic Area of Engagement
Advocacy & Policy Influence
Our advocacy efforts focus on promoting policies that address youth needs and drive national development. We conduct policy research, develop proposals, and engage with policymakers to push for youth-friendly policies. Notably, our advocacy for youth quota in parliament demonstrates our commitment. The bill seeking 30% seat reservation for under 35 years at both national and state assemblies is currently in the National Assembly awaiting 2nd reading.
Youth Engagement
At Nigeria Youth Policy Development and Advocacy Initiative, we believe young people drive positive change. We mobilize Nigerian youths in policy discussions through dialogues, workshops, webinars, and online campaigns. Our platforms foster youth advocates and changemakers, with over 10,000 youths participating in the “Nigeria Youth Stakeholders Conversation”.
Capacity Building
We equip Nigerian youths with skills, knowledge, and tools for effective advocacy and leadership. Through training workshops, mentorship programs, and resource centers, we aim to empower over 20,000 youths with expertise in policy analysis, advocacy, and public speaking over the next five years.
Partnerships
We collaborate with government agencies, civil society organizations, and private sector stakeholders to amplify youth voices and promote policy change. These partnerships provide access to key decision-making spaces and enable us to influence policies that benefit Nigerian youths.
Communication & Outreach
We leverage social media, events, and campaigns to amplify youth voices and promote our initiatives. Through videos, infographics, blogs, and campaigns like #YouthQuotaInParliament, we have sparked national conversations on youth policy and leadership.
